The road less taken…

•June 3, 2010 • Leave a Comment

*I am taking the road less travelled…
wherever that may lead,
I do not expect my friends to go with me there.
This road is narrow and quiet,
but I will be content
because the love of God will be with me.

I only expect that they accept
the choices that I make.
It is only with my family
with whom I lovingly partake myself,
from them I will ask understanding
because it is with them
that I will take on that journey
for better or worse; come what may.

Some friends we meet a short while
make profound statements
in theirs and our lives;
to some we make lifetime links;
the others well, who knows…
maybe they’re just mistakes.

However, in the course of our lives
as friends, we go separate ways
whether we like it or not;
either we let go or left behind…
we let them be the person
they want and ought to be
so that they may be able to
brace themselves in a changing world.

There is nothing permanent
in this world but change;
it is also the only thing that’s permanent.
We meet, we love, laugh, toil,
we learn and cry together along the way.
Because of our experience
together and apart from each other
we go on living.
We change, but we don’t stop loving;
we move on…but we never forget.*

Day 2: Metropolitan Lifestyle

Karitas, ManilaIt’s my first day and I woke up to the sound of cars going to and fro, people shouting, kaluskos everywhere etc. It’s monday morning and people are rushing off to work and school including my in-laws. I went out sa pasilyo and took pictures of the condo I am staying here in Karitas, Manila

PasilyoAlready the first thing I went out to is the piket outside of shell. Pinalilipat sila malayo dito sa Karitas dahil this place has become too crowded and residential. To be safe, the government approved the transfer of shell gas station to another place (not too far din naman) for the safety of the people living in this area. At first I thought there was some kind of Festival and I thought I would see TV/movie personalities because people are screaming and seem upbeat.

Piket sa kalyeI went out to the streets and asked what’s happening and the people look at me as if I am from another planet. Ok ok I’ve lived on a cave for years now and I don’t know what’s happening to the world anymore. What can I do, I am a cave woman! lol Turned out na rally pala ito at hindi some kind of motorcade of personalities. Me mga police everywhere. The condo I am staying is a seven story building na meron indoor groceries, dental, bank, japanese bistro, laundry, etc. It has its own security 24/7. Ang babait pa at ang kucute ng mga guards. lol Meron pa elevator. Sosyal!. Anyway, buti na lang may dental center din sa loob and botika. I will be able to have my teeth fixed and cleaned and not even set foot outside the comfort of the condo. Talking about convenience..I love it here already. Eto yung bagong at uso dito ngayon — Metropolitan lifestyle!

DSC07214BADMINTON CRAZE
People go gaga over this sport. Dati hindi pa ito sports pero ngayon eto na yung sport ng masa next of course to basketball. I tried my prowess sa game na ito and I SUCK!

DSC07213Ok ok I am learning a little bit and I am getting good every minute. The place we went to to play is by SM City sa Manila. May bayad ito pero walang ventilation. Imagine, it’s very hot, you’re sweaty and walang hangin habang naglalaro ka

Of course hindi mawawala ang kalesa at kabayo sa streets of Maynila. I find it very charming and very Filipino. Feeling mo ay Spanish era pa. Pero mind you, grabe and traffic at napaka delikado ang mag drive dito. Walang pakialam ang mga drivers. Drive at your own risk!

JUNKIE

DSC07220Of course, junk food and coffee for breakfast! Sinigang sa tanghalian at Junk food before you sleep! Nood ng game show ni Kris Aquino before going to bed.
